Topshop Crayon Pencils Review

I love that Topshop has come out with its own range of make up which is rather affordable unlike their range of clothes which are bearing prices not too far from high-end fashion these days ( =__= )

Here's their not-so-latest collection of Topshop crayons:

Crayons are rather like eye-liners, except that they are rather thick and can't draw defined lines like an eyeliner can. However, it is a lot more smoother and thicker to apply than a normal eyeliner and its great for creating that ''smudged eye look''.

I bought two colours to try, i.e the Black Jack & Tarnish (because Imma a big fan of brown eyeshadow/liner)

Tarnish (the dark brown) looks rather black here but in real-life its more of a dark-matte brown colour.

I really love these crayons, they create a really lovely smudgey look and blends really easily on the skin. However, I definitely won't recommend this for girls with oily skin if they don't put on eye primer coz this smudges really easily :( . Aside from that, the colours are VERY awesome, and the black contains just a nice touch of glitter for nightime.

I never draw the directly on my eyes with the crayons, I always use a sharp tip side-ways brush to shape the outline of the crayon. I find that just directly drawing it on your eyes can give is a very messy look if you're not too careful!

I'm thinking about one-day doing a makeup video just showcasing my makeup in real life (I'm not ready to show the world my bare-face just yet! lolz)

Bacon Mashed Potato Recipe

I know this blog is too random, from makeup, clothes, travelling, to bacon recipes but I swear this is just an off track for a wee while! I''ll get back to blogging about make up again pretty soon ^^

I had a potluck with my Bf's family not too long ago and most of us had made homemade dishes <3

What his sister made which put the rest of us to utter shame :'( Please dont ask me how she made this.

This is mine and the boyfriend's. It's Bacon Mashed Potato for now but I haven't thought of a 'zing' name for it as of yet! heh.

Ingredients:

Mashed Potato

Bacon (pork)

Cheese (I just used normal Kraft cheese slices, nothing fancy)

Cream Cheese

Milk

Salt (wee bit)

To feed about 10 people I put in roughly around 5-6 potatoes for this dish. As usual have them mashed, and after mashing, throw in lots of cream cheese (I used 2/3 of a block) , some milk (however much you want to taste creamier. Keep adding and tasting it as you go) . I added a tinge of salt as well just for extra flavour.

Cut your bacon into small bite-sized pieces and fry them lightly beforehand. They don't have to be fully cooked. Then, layer the cheese on top of your mashed potato, throw the bacon on top, and oven it for 10 mins

This is a super feel-good recipe and great for potluck (coz its easier to make than a lot of other fancy Chinese meals ahem).

Etude House Blusher

Bought this coz its on sale and I've run out of blusher. My face is has a light tan, so I really advice people with similiar skin to go for a light pink blusher as opposed to a darker blusher as it will only make your face look dull (believe me I've tried)

This one is pretty good, its pink colour is not too overwhelming on the cheeks .

This colour shade is labeled as : #3: Pink Girl Fit

In fact, its on offer now for only RM26 (its about U$ 4.20?)

Penang Oh Penang! : Straits Quay

Straits Quay (pronounced as Straits Kee, I know, I'm super chinese, I keep going kuay, kuay. English can sometimes be a super confusing language =___=)

Went there not too long ago with the boyfriend around Christmas time. It was my second trip down to Penang in a year, I really love Penang a lot! Its just got this awesome uniqueness about it blending the olden 19th century days and even the newer architecture is always trying to relieve and keep true to the 19th century. In a nutshell, its an absolutely vintage town in our 21stcentury :)

We went there for dinner at ate at this place called 'BellaMarino", a middle range italian restaurant that serves pretty decent italian food :)

We were standing at the entrance of Straits Quay in this picture. There is actually a gorgeous Marina Bay behind with a lighthouse as well, with boats parked at their bays but I totally forgot to take in a single picture (FML) .

Anyhoo, this place is really worth a visit if you do drop by Penang, Malaysia.

Been having a pretty ''meh'' life lately, its mostly been about work, work, work, weird shit that happened to me last weekend, and then its bad to that vicious cycle that always seem to start on monday. I wish I could find a job I'm totally in love in and can't wait to spring out of bed to get to my second favourite place in the world :D

Still, there are snippets randomly showing up during the week which I absolutely love. Celebrated my best friend's 25th birthday just last weekend. How time flies!!

We had it at this little italian restaurant called ''italian tomato''. Its still relatively new and rather empty located along Jalan Maarof, Bangsar. This lil thing ain't getting enough attention! Food and atmosphere is actually pretty great, I really highly recommend their pizza's which I think if big enough for two :)

Baviphat Magic Girl BB Cream

A friend of a friend recommended this Baviphat's range of BB creams as they are apparently really good and does wonders for make up.

These are now available only in a few Watson Stores retailing at RM69.90 (U$ 20+ish) . It's not cheap, but its not overtly expensive either.

I bought the product coz it contains collagen T^T . I know, I'm hitting 25 this year so I'm starting to get super paranoid and concerned about sagging skin.

In addition, it comes with the usual SPF 30++ and some whitening agents.

I can't read much of the other instructions coz its all in korean, so far I've been using it for nearly a month now.

Isn't the packaging just mad adorable?

It has a rather thick liquid consistency, but still spreads rather easily across the face. My makeup does stay on longer (as it usually does with most BB creams). But am I a fan of it? Not so to be honest.

Maybe because it has whitening agents in it, it doesn't blend with my natural skin colour as most BB creams usually do. I usually end up with a bit of a two-tone face after applying this, and I needed to buy a darker tone face powder to counter this effect. I'm not very fair either, so it really doesn't help that I'm using this product as well. I guess its my own fault as I bought it knowing that it had whitening agents in it. But I'd definitely recommend this product though for girls who are pretty fair-skinned :)

Overall its not bad, it does a great job ensuring my skin looks peachy, elastic, and pore-free. But I won't buy this again as its not really suitable with my skin colour and it only comes in one-colour tone.

Japanese Facial Mask from 100yen store

Recently, I just bought this face mask that I've been seeing in ViVi Magazines since 2010 (I know right, I can hardly believe it meself that its already 2012!! When I woke up the next morning it was already next year. LOLOLOL. Ok lame joke albeit a truestory ^^ )

Unfortunately this is not available at every 100yen store outlet, and so far I've only seen this in the Kuchai Lama outlet. There are loads of other different mask to choose from, for only RM4.90 (which is probably US: $ 1.5)

I can't read much japanese so I don't really know what's going on with this product, neither can I tell you its name in japanese T^T (fail) . But from the chinese explanation written at the back of it, according to a friend, it means that the product supposedly makes your skin soft and supple and all the usual promises facial products promise their customers.

I have sensitive skin, so this works fine with me. After using it, I find that its pretty refreshing, and my skin does feel a lot less dry and more supple. However, it does absolutely nothing for my pores.

Would I recommend this product? Certainly, especially those who have a problem with dry skin. But I wouldn't really buy this again as I've got a facial mask brand I've already been using for the past 1 year and it does wonders for my skin, therefore I won't be switching to this product anytime soon.

(PS if anyone could read japanese it would be great if you could translate the name of this product for me!) much love!

This is a submission of the annual review of myoreomilkshake.blogspot.com. As you can see from this year's compilation of post , notorious reader comments and ratings, she's been paying A LOT less attention to this blog as compared to previous years.

3) Trip to Penang

Which was an absolute eye-opener, and not to mention a very lovely experience

Never knew that Penang had actually so much stuff to do with so many wonderful people to meet. Sometimes, we have to learn to appreciate travelling in our own country before we complain how we never get the chance to go overseas!

4) Discovery the Ipad2

Wtf this wasn't even a blogspot about this, but the best gift to the world in 2011 wasn't the end of poverty, hunger, curing a lethal sickness, it is the IPAD 2. It has provided the world with so many hours of endless entertainment, time-killing functions, and possibly about 10% of portable work, but it has by far trumped almost everything else on this damn list.

What I love most about Ipad is being able to edit my pics easily and posted them almost immediately on facebook. I've such an attention whore!

There's this application to put fake lashes on anything you want, so I tested them out on my boyfriend's dog. HAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHHAA.

There are other things as well not listed down properly such as her finally passing her CLP (which she failed once last year, and it took her another whole year in 2011 to finally pass the BLOODY THING) ; Getting in a healthy relationship in 2011 with food and a new toy boy; Finally learning to cook stuff that's not microwavable; and changing to a slightly better job.

We hope that our next year's annual 2012 report shall be a better one.

Havent written about having a boyfriend in the longest time ever (um.. maybe only 2 years XD ) I stopped blogging about boyfriends for a while coz c'mon la let's face it, damn paiseh right If I keep writing how many boyfriend's I've changed over the last few years..... (*sheepish*)

I digress, this post is more about Wondermilk opening its new store at Solaris Dutamas. To be honest, I've never gotten around to visiting their flagship store back at Uptown coz its always so jammed up with cars. Solaris Dutamas is a much , much better choice, not to mention the place is just freakin awesome. If you're an architectural / art junkie you're bound to fall in love with this place.

Seriously amazing stuff I swear they must have put cocaine in there somewhere lol. (Flavours: Strawberry, Coffee, Chocolate, but I've forgotten the other flavours but still delish!)

I've been such a hermit hiding away from the internet world lately (except facebook but its become more of a commodity rather than internet anymore T^T )

Been meaning to create a post about my everytime make-up routine. Not like anyone cares but whatever. I feel it really helps other girls like me who have single eyelids. It really helps my eyes look TONS bigger, especially when I don't bother to use double-eye lid tape since they don't work on me anywayz.

Maybeline Hyper Sharp Liner (around the range of RM20 )

I really really really love this liner. Making ''winged'''tips at the ends of my eyes just became a hundred times neater and so much more accurate! I love how its waterproof as well as I have oily eyelids and it lasts all day long.

The only thing I don't like about it is that it finishes like seriously fast. I've only been using it for a month but I can start to see that the ink isn't as thick as it used to be when I first bought it :/ Kinda pricey to keep topping up RM20 a month!! Its like fuckin electricity bills. =.=

Lovin'my new table cloth as well. ho ho!! just bought it barely 2 hours ago from 100yen store and I thought it'd make a great background for my reviews from now on :D

Popin Cookin : Sushi Set

Recently I've just started an online store with a friend. I do hope some of you guys will drop by and learn more about it!

Basically the ''blogshop'' we've opened up is not just an ordinary clothes selling store, its a shop selling Japanese candy. Or to be even more specific, its a do-it-yourself assortment of sushi like-candy imported all the way from Japan.

Its called ''Popin Cookin'', and its got loads of different flavours as well from grapes to strawberries with gummy bear-like texture.

Its really interesting coz its not just ANY conventional candy. For example, you can actually make stuff like this from scratch!!! These candies are supposed to be toys for children, but young adults can have fun with them as well! <3

Here are snippets of the tutorial for making these sushi sets from scratch! Its very simple and easy to do, all the sushi is already pre-made in powder form; all you have to do is just add water and hey presto!! Instant gummi sushi!

Christmas pop-up cards

Is it just me or does anyone else feels that Christmas seems to come A LOT earlier every year? I mean like its crazy, all the malls have started playing Christmas songs and putting up christmas trees a lot earlier than ''25 days before christmas!''

And I have to admit I've been caught by the bug too. I've already started buying christmas cards in november @.@ (pai seh)

But these were too good to be true!! I was damn kau excited when I found them, they are like the prettiest Christmas cards I've ever seen, and way too good to pass up. I've already bought a few to stock up for when December comes along to post to friends and family :) :) :)

There's this cake going around that's driving me absolutely crazy with rainbow fever.....

and I really really really really really (echoes another 500 times) WANT ONE!!!

It looks so amazingly delicious! Ok, maybe it'd be ridiculously sweet and make my teeth change to certain shades of colours every few seconds what with the obvious massive amount of food colouring.....but but... doesn't it just look absolutely yummy?

Too lazy to bake though. It must take like forever from the looks of it . I'm looking for a place where I can just buy a slice without ordering the entire cake (I've found some online but its all for a 1.5kg cake which is a bit ridiculous for one person)

BB cream reviews: Etude house & Kiss Me

I think I'm gonna move my blog to include make-up reivews from now on because I really feel that Malaysia has hardly anyone giving reviews on make up you can find in Watsons and Guardian which can be a real BITCH.

I do keep trying to find reviews for certain products but sometimes it's really hard as I know there's just such a wide span of make up its hard to review every single one. And its a real put-downer when you've been eyeing that makeup off the counter for ages, paid rm50 for it and only to find out the damn thing doesn't work =___=

Coz let's face it, stuff you buy and try on the spot always looks a lot better than when you decide to bring it back home.

So here's by review on the popular BB cream that's been going around a lot lately.

Tbh, I LOOOVEEEEE BB creams. I think their God's gift to womanfolk. I started using it 2 years ago after my friend intro-ed to me, and I did notice that my pimples are a lot smaller and fewer. My skin had less freckles since I was wearing a thick layer of SPF everyday which is an ingredient in BB creams.

Etude House was my first ever BB cream

Its got a lovely, creamy texture and covers up flaws extremely well.The only downside is that I have combination skin, so after a few hours my forehead and nose area tend to get a little oily which is annoying as I have to touch up often. It probably might work better on someone who has dry skin coz my friend doesn't have this problem at all.

Cost is reasonable as well (during sales). I got this at half price for only RM30.After the Etude House BB cream finished, I tried using Japan's BB cream called ''KISS ME: Heroine make-up''. The tag-line is damn cute, saying that a heroin must always look good no matter through rain or shine, her makeup must stay on.
HAHAHAHAHAH!!

HBought at Watsons for RM55. Overall though, I do prefer Kiss Me coz even though I'd have to admit the coverage isn't as fantastic as Etude House's BB cream, at least it doesn't leave me with an oil-coated forehead after 3 hours. Such a turn off!!!! Plus, the texture is a lot more liquid that Etude House BB which is much more suitable for my skin type.

After layering all that BB cream on, I usually put on powder to ''set'' the BB cream. This is so that your BB cream can last A LOT longer. I'm now trying out this brand called Essence This brand was dirt cheap for me for only RM14, its a hell of a bargain.However, you do get what you pay for.

Note, it is loose powder, so I have to buy one of those big makeup brushes to apply it on. I felt the powder wasn't ''fine'' enough as if I put a wee too much that day, it tends to make my face look a tad too powdery. Overall, not bad, but I wouldn't exactly buy this again despite the price as the coverage isn't that fantastic.

Erm, forgot to include this beforehand (hey, its my first thorough make up post) , I apply concealer on my undereyebags. I use Kate (Japan) concealer.I I have serious badass eyebags like BIG time, but unfortunately this concealer hard does help if at all :( Here is a picture of me after applying BB cream, concealer, and loose powder.

Road Trip - Penang (La Boheme)

Just barely a week ago, me and 2 friends did a road trip around Malaysia, covering Ipoh , Penang and Langkawi for a total of 4nights, and 5 days.

We were just idyll chatting about how most people are always so gung-ho about going overseas and having road trips there, but to be honest, have you actually made a road trip within your own country?

And to be honest, at the age of 24 sad to say I really haven't been much around Malaysia, I probably know a lot less than a tourist who has come all the way here from Britain on tour around my own country :(

Hence , this much needed road trip visiting the cities/towns in the Nothern region of west Malaysia.

Neither was a disappointed by the amount of history, scenery, and cultural differences that these different states had to offer each unique and a marvel in their own way.

I'd have to say though one of the places that really struck a cord with me was Penang. When the colonial british first arrived here with Francis Light, they had also left a lot of historical european buildings with local architecture influence behind, hence leaving a lot of ''heritage houses'' .

Penang is a city with soul, with its tiny windy streets creating terrible traffic congestion , yet its people being friendly and helpful, with hardly any of the steel hint of a klite's tough exterior upon first impression.

We had a friend there , Alice, who was kind enough to act as our one day tour guide around Penang which proved to be a tremendous help coz I seriously would not have been able to find such places without her!

Ironically one of the places she brought us to was an rustic vintage shophouse in godknowswhere, which turned out to be a home-run french pastry shop!

Recently, we had a small gathering amongst us law graduates at this meat buffet called "Carnival" in Damansara Jaya.

Unfortunately I was too busy eating (it was absolutely scrumptious, fresh succulent grilled meat being served at our table every 5 mins .... and the best part its that its unlimited!!!!)

Red Lipstick

I'm a bit obsessed with it at the moment. Got my first very bloodishly red lipstick from Revlon (Matte Red).

Was inspired by Suzistyle's vid here:

I loved her red lips!!

Tried it out the other day but I wasn't used to it at first. My lips were waaaaaaaaaayy more red than this before I dabbed it with tissue coz I couldn't take the strong red colour.

I think it turned out pretty well to be honest, I have pretty tanned skin (don't trust the photos coz they liiieeee!!!! They've been heavily edited coz I tried out a muted colour effect for them). I know tanned people usually have a hard time with red lipstick coz it usually looks better on fair skinned people which is true. But after trying this out, I would suggest if you're tanned to use a more ''matte'' red colour like this Revlon one as it does suit our skin tone pretty well :)

Btw, do use lip liner. It really helps out loads as very blood red lipstick tends to smear a bit and the liner helps give ur lips a nice, polished look to your lips.

Its just that I haven't had a life for the past um... 6 months? *sheepish*

Just being random, but currently I'm mad addicted to Famous Amos choc chip cookies. Its so annoying to the point when I wake up, the first thing I want is Famous Amos Pecan Choc Chip cookies. =___=

Anyhoo, I did manage to get a job in the end, not exactly what I wanted, and yesterday was my last day *GASP*. I know you must be thinking ''what the fuck! In all your previous post you were just talking about how upset u are u didn't have a job! BITCH"

I know I know!! I am a walking contradiction!!!!

But I didn't get a job that I was satisfied with. It was an OK job, i definitely enjoyed in more than law, but it was just a normal Sales Associate. How far can I go in life with it? and I want a job that can give me a $$$$$ - digit salary. ahem.

Coz I'm greedy like that.

But it was definitely fun while it lasted. But I quit was 1) I felt I can't go far 2)I am going to resume back to law 3) I hate my co-worker to the core, to the point if she dropped down n died today or got run over by a freakin lorry I wouldn't even shed a tear.

Man. Working life politics is just crazy. I gotta learn how to handle them better the next time I go back into the working world @___@

Ironically, the year 2010 has been the year I've done the most things with my hair.

I've had it coloured numerous times, curled, cut, etc, you name it I've done it all already!! Coz you know why???

I LOVE HAIR.

They say ''clothes make a person'', but so does hair!! Its even recommended to change your hairstyle every 2-3 years to keep your face looking fresh & young. It prevents boring looking photos as well, I mean like imagine if you had the same boring black shoulder length hair from 2000 - 2009, I mean like fuck, you wouldn't be able to tell what year you took that photo in if you didn't watermark a date!!!

Back to my point, this post is made in conjunction with Disney's latest Princess movie,

"Tangled"

Its an animated movie of Rapunzel, a woman with 70 feet of long lusterous blonde hair locked up in a magical tower, waiting for a prince to rescue her...... NOT. In fact, its actually a hair-raising adventure of her escape from the tower with a thief who accidentally breaks in, not knowing what's in store for him.

The movie sounds so fun already!!!

I read from STYLE.SUZI that home DIY blonde hair will NOT make your hair turn blonde thanks to our very dark hair colour.

So I decided to risk it since I'm pretty much sick of my dark chocolate brown hair but was too broke to get a professional dye job.

I've got to say, I really do love how the colour turned out!! Be warned though, I've noticed that dying a lighter colour makes your hair extremely dry despite using intensive conditioner. I had to do hair mask every week just to keep my hair from being too dry!

Sorry I've been ignoring you. A lot of unhappy things have been happening to me of late. I'm still very much jobless after applying for 2 months plus, my relationship hasn't been peachy at all because of all the stress involved, and I'm pretty much counting my last pennies in my already torn-up wallet.

Not to mentioned I failed a stupid license exam that I have been studying for a year, further adding to my parents pressure for a job and I'm constantly reminded of their disappointment in me.

I must say starting Monday this week though, things have been looking up for me. I got myself a part-time job in the meantime to earn some side income, I've gotten two interviews lined up for next week, and I'm glad my parents were still kind enough to sponsor me a car which is arriving soon.

Fingers crossed I do hope I find a new path in life!

As you've probably already guessed, this is not your typical bunny movie. The story starts out with prisoners brought to a military camp set out in the dessert of the middle-eastern territory, where Sergeant Packy and Botasky are heading the search & rescue team.

Cast aside your skepticism to watch this, because CatShitOne is surprisingly good and this statement is coming from a GIRL. So far, CatShitOne has only released one 20minute episode online but there has been no news reports of when the other episodes will come out or how long it would be.

The graphics are refreshing , beautiful and well-done. Usually animal animations are done pretty badly because character movement looks unreal but this obviously has not been a problem for Motofumi and his team. Everything was done with almost a hundred percent pure realism, and the length (20mins) made the whole show a truly enjoyable watch without even being a touch draggy.

Do give this short film a watch, though be-warned you may have an uncontrollable urge to suddenly keep a pet bunny and dress them up in military uniform.

I've changed myself!!

Before this, I've been trying to keep long hair for the past one year. I wanted hair so long it could reach up till my bloody ass.

But, as time would have it, I grew impatient and fed up with waiting for my long hair. No matter how much I cut off the ends every few months, the damn thing never grew that much longer. It takes me a span of 5 months just to grow a wee 5cm of hair. By then, my hair deteriorated to a terrible condition - I had constant frizzy, tangled hair and very very bad split ends. Its not to say I never used hair conditioner or proper shampoo. I did, its just that long hair is very much harder to manage.

My recent trip to Phuket with TTM, Ms.Ave T, Debbeh + Jon totally DID NOT make things any better for my already dying hair ends.

The extend of my dry hair can be seen most in this recent picture *shudders*

And yes I know this whole post is gonna start sounding like a shampoo advert asking you to invest in This&That Shampoo that will revitalized your hair with the much needed essential minerals.

But you see, I've given up.

So I chopped everything off right before the Nuffnang Vaseline Event.

I just can't express how happy I am with my new hair!! It looks so cute and japanese! Some people have been asking me whether its a wig and I assure you, its NOT :) . I just happen to have found a great stylist thanks to Miss Ave T, **big wet kiss on da cheek**

It has really been many many years since I've had hair this short. I've always assumed that I will ONLY look good with long hair. I'm glad I've been proven wrong this time!!!!! I feel I look so much more refreshed and less tired! xxx

On a side note, I tried bottom false lashes for the first time. And yes, I know it looks mightily weird but it looks totally chio from far away (just stay 30cm away from my face thankyouverymuch). I still have much to learn about the ways of the ~~jedi~~ putting undereye falsies.

Shit I always look so unnaturally fair in photos. I really am rather tanned in real life!

For those of you who have been having the same hairstyle for the past one year, go make a change today! Who knows it could actually be the best decision you've made for yourself all year!

Its a good dish, but you must like balsamic vinegar! Didn't like it though because it had parsley and I fuckin hate parsley.

Yay for the job hunt!

Well I didn't exactly get the job I wanted, but I tried applying to this event management company. and yay! I scored an interview!! The interview should be this Thursday :) Kinda excited and dreading the idea of finally working. No more glorious days of bumming at home. Sadness.

I tried applying to this site called Jiggee, and their response was so cute!

Terrible passport photos

I've always hated passport size photos. No matter how much make up you put, or how well you try to dress yourself the photographer is sure to always mess the photo up.

For example, like my most recent sized passport photo:

I mosaic-ed my eyes out coz they looked imbalance and weird. Can you believe the photographer made me wear a horrible looking work blazer over my shirt? He refused to take my photo if I didn't wear it saying I will look very unprofessional.

But now that I actually have to apply for a job I adamantly refuse to use such a fugly photo of myself. Who wants to hire such an employee???

So JoJo & I have decided to make our own passport photo after highly photoshopping it *ahem* .

I couldn't make up my mind what background I wanted so I decided to use the ladies restroom coz they had nice wooden cubicle doors. HAHAHAHAHA!

Then hurrah to at least decent looking passport photos!!! (I think my make up look a wee bit funny that day but I'm too lazy to retake new pics)

ChiangMai - Stuff I got!

Just came back from a family trip from ChiangMai. My parents are damn pro at buying zero fare tickets so we decided to give ChiangMai a try. Turns out to be not so nice after all :(

I definitely woudln't advice it as a place to travel to as it doesn't have much touristy stuff to do. Mostly just visit temples and ride on elephants (probably the ONLY attraction). Its only worth going if you have a lot of money to spend on those extreme sports like gibbon swings or those jungle trek dirt rides.

Shopping isn't that great either, its better off you head to Bangkok instead for a more fun shopping experience and a cheaper one too. Clothes in Chiangmai are so expensive! Like shopping back in Malaysia =___= I expected to buy loads of stuff but I only bought a "moderate" amount of stuff . ahem.

Anyhoo shopping pics make me happy!

At a crossroad, can't it just say "Go this way?

I think everyone comes to this mind splitting affair at some point of their lives. Well, at least almost everyone does. It would be the reason I've been blogging very little as of late coz I'm going through a mini-mid life crisis.

I've a degree in LLB (i.e Law) and I've gotten pretty decent results. I've slaved through 3 years of law school, and a year studying for the CLP (sort of a Legal License). That makes it a total of four years.

Now the obvious thing would be to work for a good law firm, get promoted, open my own firm or become a partner, earn lots of money, swim in it and smoke imported Caribbean cigars. Even though I''m not a smoker I bloody well am still going to buy scented cigars just for the heck of it.

This would ultimately be the most ideal, golden paved road with no second guesses.

The problem is, I've never really even liked law that much.

The second problem is I have no idea what I ultimately truly desire.

The third problem is I'm expected by family pressure to start working next month which is coming up in....10 days. Fuck my life.

I guess what I really want to do now is tryout for jobs I've always been curious about. Like being in the media , and mostly I'm aiming at trying to be a host or a presenter. Unfortunately without the proper degree and experience as I have no Em Cee experience of any sort, I've been met with totally NO response from all my applications. Its a depressing thought making me second guess myself. Maybe I'm not as awesome as I thought I was (ahem).

It makes me wonder how long will I hold on to being jobless? Ok, granted its only been a month but you've heard stories of people being jobless for as long as 6 months just trying to look for their ideal job which is pretty scary. Even my own brother took 4 long months before he finally landed a job @___@ (granted though the bugger was a lazy for 2 months) .

Isn't life difficult? Why couldn't I have been born forever lucky so that all I need to do everyday is buy ToTo, and win 4Ds'. Then at least the money part is solved and I need not feel so pressured and rushed to do something.

Sigh. I could really use some divine intervention right about... now.

I think I speak for a lot of women out there, when we feel the time and age has come for males to 'buck up' in the whole 'self-image' idealogy.

Its usually the woman you see slaving themselves to be beautiful, investing loads of money on make up, staying on the right diet to keep fit, and dressing nicely.

Sadly, I have to say (at least in Malaysia me thinks) , not a lot of men bother to be metrosexual or take pride in their looks. I have a lot of guy friends, or guy friends of friends, who don't really care about their outlooks. The most they do is bother with their bloody hair. But they don't mind dressing up like they bought their clothes from the discount stock pile in PADINI.

Its not to say I think they are not great people, in fact, I think most of my guy friends are practically a pretty awesome bunch. Its just sometimes when I see them I wish I could give them a full makeover and tweeze their eyebrows just a wee bit to get rid of that glaring unibrow.

But I'll get straight to the point, the part I am most unhappy with about most malaysian men is "THE BODY".

I admit, what attracts me first to the guy is not so much the look, but whether he has a good body. I'd see whether he has wide shoulders? check. Biceps? ooo, nice ones! CHECK! For the next requirement, I can't exactly check out guy I just met by lifting up his shirt to check his abs, but knowing he has them would be a big SURPLUS XD

Yay! Its been a while since I last posted up clothes & stuff and I've admittedly been neglecting my blog *shy*

too much stuff has been happening of late, I never realized I'd be busier after exams are over!

But you know the thing that I'm dreading the most? Looking for a job for the first time :(

I'm kinda depressed of the idea of having to start work so soon. Having to be stuck with a 9-5 job, and not being able to wake up at 11am whenever I want to. yeeeuucck. But that'll be a story for another blog post :D

SO Anyways, back to "DENIM!"♥

Recently been madly buying anything denim-ish. Let's face it , after the colour black its probably the next most flexible fashion item for everything.

So here are a few fashion essential denims I think everyone should definitely invest in.

1. Denim Usamimi

Aren't they just so absolutely mad cute??? I got mine from this site called: TheVanityHall , they're selling them real cheap now, at only RM8.40 (coz they are having 30% sales nao).
See Imma such a bargain hunter. I don't like buying stuff at full price LOL.

Its so flexible I can even fashion it into a cute scarf!

I tried making it into a ribbon but a bit "'FAIL"". AKML. It still looks good neeways!

2. Denim Jacket

My new denim jacket is mad love. Since the day I got it (2 weeks ago) I've been matching this damn thing with every single one of my outfits. I think all my friends see until sien.

I've gotta say its still one of the best investments I've ever made! Its so chio, and I love the lace details around the collars and the back. Imma not gonna say where I bought it coz I the less people have it, the better for me. Mwahahahahahahahah.

3. Denim Jeans

But not just any boring denim jeans. I hate it whenever I have to wear the ugly (ok fine, its not ugly its just that its so common I hate them) dark denim jeans.

My ideal jeans are from Topshop but I have to save up like forever to even get one :(:(:(:(

Bon Odori 2010 (& a revival post!)

Yep I've been dead for a whole month thanks to that bloody exam called CLP (Certificate in Legal Practice) . It is easily Malaysia's Most Stupidest Exam not because its so easy, but because its ridiculously complicated and unnecessary. But, I shall spare you the details and rant about that next time.

I thought the nicest entry to end my blog-fast would be to write on Bon Odori 2010, held at Shah Alam Stadium. To be honest I went to it one day before my exams but fuck it, was just waaay to sick of looking at piles and piles of books!!!!!!!!!!

On a side note, all photos have been edited using Photoscape (click link to get download), and its a great programme for you photoshop noobs out there to chio-ify your shitty photos to look like its been taken by DSLR.

Overall although Bon Odori is quite an experience, its something I wouldn't go to again. Its nice and all to get to experience a tiny wee bit of cheat wan Japanese culture but then you get stores like Jusco, Isetan, Sakae Sushi, and Sushi King there, its like the same stuff you get in shopping malls anyways!!

So good to get back to blogging!!

I'm madly in ♥ with Polaroid pics.

Suwen was just saying, now that we have digital cameras its really weird how we're all going backwards loving everything old & vintage like flash polaroid cameras!!

But you see that's the fun of it!! You kinda miss the anticipation of how your pics will turn out!!

I love the feeling of seeing the pics starting out fuzzy then watch it slowly emerge from out of blank paper. I still have no idea how a polaroid works. @_@

In addition, polaroid cameras nowadays have super duper cute printed borders and come in awesome fun colours!!!!!

These in particular are from Fujifilm from Korea.

Been trying to look for really cute polaroid cameras but unfortunately I think not many companies have bothered manufacturing them :( The others out in the market now are FUGLY MAX.

Wigs!!

So after Cheesie had been ranting on about them and how great they are, JoJo, Lauren & I decided to head down to give wigs a try at a store in Bangsar..

And I must say, I think I've been converted. I'm really thinking of buying one one day!!

Its so flexible and easy, I've always found in irritating to get the right sort of curls. You know what I mean, those super bouncy ones that all the celebs have but you'll never get. FOL.

Then with wigs, its like instant fabulous hair!!! VIOLA!!!

Tried a sort of copper brown. Yes my eyebrows look weird coz photshopped them uglily. Somehow black eyebrows just look weird with copper brown hair for some odd reason!!

Ok fine, they look even odder now that I tried to make them brown but I wanted to see how they looked like so stfu. :(:(:(

(neeways, have any of you ever thought about dye-ing your eyebrows? I think brown would be so flexible)

I even tried on a blonde wig wtf....

I seriously feel I look best in a blonde bob.

But I don't think I'll ever cut my hair this short ever!!

I've had mixed reviews about this hair. Initially I was going to do my hair like this for real, coz I wanted Taylor Swift-ish curls.

Some say I look awesome and some say I look like China prostitue, fml! >_<

So what I can summarize from wearing wigs?? There are some that look so obviously fake. Like my brown hair in the 1st few pictures. Its just too much hair to be real! I look like some cosplay toy.

Wigs are flexible in that you can do whatever you want with them, you can tie it whatever way you want, straighten it, and even wash it like your real hair with shampoo and stuff! Can cheat people wan!!!!!!!

I've pretty much mastered the use of a hairnet which is super useful. I'm definitely gonna try other hairstyles next time ;)

Sometimes, I feel my smartphone is as obsolete as the first edition of 'dumphones'.

Firstly, I love having fake nails so having a touch screen can be a bitch,

Its daaamn effin horrible trying to type with long nails. People have asked me to use the stylus but then there's still the problem of getting my stylus out with my long nails!!!

But secondly, 90% of the smartphone functions are obsolete because it doesn't function unless you have internet connection.

Which ironically leads us to conclude that:

I've always found it annoying that its just so darn difficult to find a good how-to-video for Japanese hair styles like those in the ViVi Magazines.

All I get every time I utube 'japanese hairstyles' some stupid american stylist who always does very basic & grandma-ish french bun.

But behold!! I have found an authentic Japanese-bred on you tube showing you how to do those lovely ViVi Mag hairstyles in a simple way!

Her hairstyle tutorials are really easy to understand despite her speaking in japanese. In fact, I don't find there is much need for talking at all as you can pretty much guess and see how she does it for yourself.

On my birthday I tried her 'french braid' tutorial with a bit of modification. I think it turned out pretty nice!!

No I did not celebrate my birthday at the mamak . Thank God.

And I think May has crazy a lot of birthdays. Like seriously a lot of people couldn't make it because its their father/mother/aunty/brother/dog's birthday. :(

So my birthday had to be divided into two parts, one on the actual day itself, and another on on the 14th May both organised by the lovely Suwen.

During the day, the girls were so sweet they didn't let me stay home alone and they brought me out to watch a movie, "IP MAN 2".

I'm telling you , you must watch IP MAN!! Its a story about Bruce Lee's Master. I myself wasn't to keen on watching it at fist, I nearly picked The Losers or Diary of a Whimpy Kid.

So GLAD I DIDN'T.

Seriously the movie is about this kung fu that Bruce Lee is famous for called Weng-Chun and you'd end up hating the British very very much after that. After the movie we were all wishing that our moms had sent us to do Weng Chun Martial arts when we were younger.

The girls didn't tell me what plans they had on for me that night either. I really thought its just gonna be the 3 of us as usual until... they went to pick up SuYoong and brought me over for dinner at ChillOut!!! (check out the review for prices and food quality)

But the 'whipped cream' on the cake that night was the FREE FLOW OF ALCOHOL FOR LADIES!!

YAYYAYAY!!!!!

Which was surprisingly pretty good as well! I hate those watered down free flow of alcohol.

The barman was pretty friendly and said "Ladies!! come behind the bar and take a pic!"

They surprised me with an Oreocheesecake! One of my absolute favs!!

But I must say Secret Recipe Cakes have really gone down. The cake tasted rather sourish & I remembered it never use to taste like that!

Its funny how as you grow older, you'd like to see less candles on your cake :P

Addicted to make up

I must say,

I'm really one of those girls who are addicted to make -up. To the point I'll feel extremely uncomfortable if I went out of the house without make up. I'd feel like my pores are glaringly open like moon craters, and I'd look like the girl who just came from a small town planting paddy to the big city to plant even more paddy.

(ok technically I did come from a small town but that is besides the point. Its a metaphor dammit!)

I won't say I'm ugly, I think I'm just average looking but you see, that's the whole point. With make up, it covers all your flaws, like bad skin day, small eyes, ugly eye bags.

Then you get to see yourself on how you would have looked like have you had:

1) Great Skin

2) Bigger Eyes

3) No eye bags

4) Sharper nose

The list goes on, and you can achieve all this without plastic surgery!!

BUt the problem is after you've seen how good you look with make up on, how can you then walk out without make up when there are 1 million hot chicks out there that look so fabulous?

So I really do hate it when people (particularly older aunties & jackass men who claim they don't believe girls should wear make up) say that girls like us put on much make up. Natural beauty is best.

F you guys man.

There's a reason dear aunties, why people always comment that you look older than you really are. And to men who criticize girls with make up on? Well reality check, all those female sexy female celebs' whose photos you wank at, I bet all of them wear make up isn't it?

Whole point of this post was coz I was kinda pissed when I saw this vid:

They way they made the girl cry coz she looks so much different without make up. Look, I understand you wanna do a show about how different women look with and without make up.

But seriously need you go to that extend? WTH is wrong with Taiwan people man.

I think one of the best examples of a great celeb makeover would be Susan Boyle.

It just reminds me of how I used to be back in high sch, when I had bad skin and pretty much looked like shit, I felt like I was at the bottom of the high school food chain. You know how crazy peer pressure was back then especially for girls!!

I'm so glad I tried to change myself instead of moping around miserably wondering why no one likes me for 'just the way I am'.

Chocolate Lounge

Lately exam stress has been hitting me really hard, and I'm not the kind who does well studying at home because I'll always be in front of the laptop doing...well.. guess what I'm doing now instead of studying?????

Therefore my friends and I are always on the hunt for a nice cafe to just plonk our books down that has free wi-fi and study the whole afternoon away. Yes I can be hardworking when I want to be!!

I can't afford to always drink Starbucks and if I do splurge, I'm pretty much sick of Starbucks because too many people study there, its always overcrowded, and I've pretty much tried almost all the drinks there so I want something new!!

Suwen & I gave Chocolate Lounge a shot.

The ambience there is amazing. Good lighting plus there's hardly anyone there.

The prices are also around the price for a Starbuck, ranging from RM10-RM16.
Even if you get hungry they have loads of snacks & tib-bits to choose from!!

Suwen ordered hot Belgian milk-chocolate.

They have candles underneath that keeps your chocolate warm for a few hours. Absolutely lovely!!

I on the other hand, am an absolute HUGE fan of dark chocolate, as I can't take stuff that is too sweet, Especially when it comes to drinks.

Ordered a cold Belgian Dark-Chocolate Mocha drink.

Us being super kiam we snuck in buns from Breadstory coz its cheaper. LOL!!

Then... guess what, we saw a guy propose to his girlfriend that day!!

So romantic!!!!! Imagine proposing to someone while being surrounded by chocolate :D

But at the same time the image was kinda disturbing because the girl looked like she just finished high school and dressed liked one too @__@ .

But let's ignore this story. Its not related to my post.

Cascada's Birthday!

You know I don't understand how the hell some of them famous bloggers can patiently edit and photoshop all their pictures. It took me a bloody hour just to edit a handful (i.e 21 to be exact) and already I'm irritable as hell!!!

I put in random png. pics (which I'm raving about right now) so even if they don't match the pics....whatever la. Their too cute to just continue as an ordinary icon on my desktop.

Recently, we just celebrated Cascada's (not her real name) birthday with a bbq at Sdr.Sharizal's pad. :D

The hot afternoon sun beats down cruelly on their skins.

Their lips are cracked from the lack of fresh water on board. Water had to be severely rationed, each member being only allowed one tin cup of water a day.

It has been days since they last saw a single drop of rain. Even if the lack of water didn't kill them, the encircling sharks that had been following their raft for a while just might.

The sea is vast and endless in the horizon, it has been 90 days since they last saw dry land. Crew morale is dropping low, everyone is starting to question themselves on why did they embark on such a ridiculous journey in the name of science?

And such is the story of the great adventure, The Kontiki.

When I first read it, I thought it was mere fiction, like seriously, just a very exciting adventure of a brilliant historian and writer wanting to prove to himself and the world that the people of South America could have settled in Polynesia in pre-Columbian times.

At the time no one thought it was possible because the most scientific thing they had at the time to a boat, was a bloody raft to cross the Pacific Ocean.

And Mr. Heryerdahl wanted to prove just that!

Just recently I found out that the book was based on true facts (wtf!!) to make things even more amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He used the technology & materials from that time , recruited a few crew members who shared his flame for adventure, and with the help of the Navy set sail to cross the Pacific Ocean!! I learnt so many things from this book, like how flying fish can be eaten and that they are relatively easy to catch, and about dolphins, etc etc. I can't remember much anymore coz the last time I read this book was 2 years ago aheem *shy*

Thinking of the Kontiki and adventures at sea kinda inspired me to do a bit of artwork. Mind you I'm not that great, I do it only as a past time.

Colours are really pathetic coz I only have 12Luna pencil colours with me. Coz believe it or not the fuckin 42 colours cost rm50. I mean like WTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I recently just watched the movie "The Mannequin", a movie from 1987!!

Basically the story is about a girl from the past who woke up as a mannequin. But the catch is that she can only turn human when she's around this one man.

Its a cute story, but I guess its not something worth re-watching.

Neeways back the point, the fashion there was horrendous. I can't stop gaping at how loud & fugly style use to be!!! I hope the 80's will never ever come back!!

See her hair bun is like your headmistress style and her garb looks only slightly better than a nun's habit.

This is the only outfit in the movie that didn't make my eyes bleed too much.

This one looks like she used masking tape to hold up her skirt.

There is a reason why the purple/white thing on top of her head is a wig. Coz its meant to be burnt. You know you can wear it on your head anywhere and when you feel like you need to start a fire, viola!! Its better than dry wood!

OMG the flower jumpsuit looks like grandma curtains made into astronaut suit.

Got influenced by Lauren. She bought 'em at this Japanese thrift store in 1Utama called "Daiso" that has loads of cool stuff for only rm5!!

She got those grandpa reading specs that magnifies everything. All she did was pop out the lenses and voila!! Great kooky specs!
