Tioman III - Snorkeling

We woke up for a 8am breakfast to go snorkeling the whole day!

The mess on the girls' side of the bedroom :P

All strapped up in snorkeling gear

Our guide took us on a boat ride to visit the Marina Park in order to go snorkeling. Sam got a little seasick on the bumpy ride....

But I personally loved the boat ride. It was fun to sit in the boat, and watch the boat create bubbles on the sea. We saw a lot of great scenery too as our tour guide explained to us the different parts of the beach of Tioman Island.

Apparently Tioman Island still largely consist of hilly forestation. Berjaya Resort on Tioman Island has the best beaches, but there are even some parts of the beaches that are privately owned!

James Bang 008. Kidding. He told his to call him "Bang" as in short of "Abang", but his real name is Harif.

But first off, he brought us to shop for duty-free stuff at this small kampung place which I've totally forgotten its name. No matter.

Everybody poses with liquor except David (yellow pants guy) who poses with mineral water =_=

Liquor there is damn cheap wei!! I bought Bailey's for my family, which only cost a mere RM49.90. Unlike back in KL, I would have to pay more than twice the amount!

But now I am faced with the problem of how am I supposed to hand-carry this huge bottle back on the plane?

After buying all that liquor, we went to Marina Park to snorkel. We stopped by the Marina Museum beforehand to check out the ugly displays since we've already paid for tickets...

Photobucket

Marina Park is sort of like a reserve to maintain sea-life. They shield off a section of the sea just for us to snorkel. No one is allowed to snorkel outside the circle so it got kinda boring as there were no corals at all and sea-life was limited.

Photobucket

Suwen & Zhen got bitten by fishies here while feeding them bread.

While Zhen was snorkeling I took the opportunity to fill his camera with pictures of over-fed aging uncles....
Photobucket

Uncle with pink snorkeling gear! ZHEN!! SEE THE WOMAN IS WEARING CROCS!!! IT IS FOR AUNTIES!!! NYAHAHAHAAHAH!!!!

After Marina Park, Harif brought us to the bestest-ever snorkeling experience of my life! (actually I haven' t had many so don't take my credibility for it.)

Coral Island

Snorkeling here is ohmygawdabsolutelyfantabulous if there is such a word. The corals were super super gorgeous, and the sea life was amazing. Harif said if we're lucky we can see sharks (which are vegetarian naturally & turtles). Unfortunately, we had no such luck. We did meet up with a bit of drama during snorkeling with this Bitch.

We were there la la la snorkeling, when our guide Harif could see that Suwen was tired and gave her a float to use. Few minutes later this bitch saw Suwen with the float, grabbed her legs, pulled her down from the float and took it for herself!!! ROOOOOOAARRR!!!!!

I heard this from Sam who would have manually strangled the woman had she had any energy left in her coz she was completely drained from helping out those in our group who could not swim.

I know karma will bite that bitch's black ass back.

Moving on from drama, we came back exhausted and had bbq seafood for dinner.

A Fine Frenzy

I love this girl's songs sooo much.

The song is sweet, and the lyrics.

If you're really into slow& sweet melodious acoutic music she's perfect. Just the singer got a bit of a 'face problem'. Dunno lah I just don't like her face =_=

Song Title: Almost Lover (Her debut song now)

Your fingertips across my skin
The palm trees swaying in the wind
Images
You sang me Spanish lullabies
The sweetest sadness in your eyes
Clever trick

Well, I never want to see you unhappy
I thought you'd want the same for me

[Chorus]
Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I'm trying not to think about you
Can't you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
Should've known you'd bring me heartache
Almost lovers always do

We walked along a crowded street
You took my hand and danced with me
Images
And when you left, you kissed my lips
You told me you would never, never forget
These images

No

Well, I'd never want to see you unhappy
I thought you'd want the same for me

[Chorus]
Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I'm trying not to think about you
Can't you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
Should've known you'd bring me heartache
Almost lovers always do

I cannot go to the ocean
I cannot drive the streets at night
I cannot wake up in the morning
Without you on my mind
So you're gone and I'm haunted
And I bet you are just fine

Did I make it that
Easy to walk right in and out
Of my life?

[Chorus]
Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I'm trying not to think about you
Can't you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
Should have known you'd bring me heartache
Almost lovers always do

Other songs to check out by her are "Near to You" & "Think of You". Equally sweet.

Tioman II - At the jetty

From our resort, we walked further down past the jetty to find a rickety abandoned old wooden jetty at the other end of the beach....

The water there was the MOST beautiful............

Look at that amazingly blue water!!

Photobucket

The guys couldn't resist going in for a swim

Photobucket

Could see fishies from the surface even without snorkeling

We had 8 people coming on the trip altogether but *cough*suwendavid*cough* were amazing pigs and slept in the afternoon while the 6 of us went out to explore!

Tioman I - Genting Bayu Resort

Photobucket
A very tired looking group upon arrival at the jetty

To be completely honest, when everyone first arrived at Tioman Island, we were hugely disappointed. Actually, disppointed would be an understatement.

We were devastated.

I think it would be safe to say that each of us thought of the same thing "What the hell did Cheryl book???"

I had taken the Genting Bayu Resort package because it was the cheapest and being well, students we were all always constantly on a budget. The whole package of 3D 2nights including an island tour, dinner, lunch & breakfast was only for rm279 sounded like an amazingly good deal!

Instead when we got there, all we saw was a malay kampung at the jeti. The beaches weren't white and sandy. There were rocky and had lots of driftwood on the shore. To make matters worse, it wasn't exactly a 'clear sunny day'.....

Photobucket

Photobucket
A very 'kampung' feel island

Our 'resort' was about 15 mins walk from the jetty

Photobucket
Arrival

Photobucket
rooms were kinda depressing looking too

But we all decided to make the best of things and hope for better weather later in the day so we went around exploring..... and found out the island actually had loads of things to do!
Photobucket
Dried up carcus of dead Pufferfish made into decoration

The guys found out that we could actually use the fishermen's boats to play with!

Photobucket

Photobucket

4 in a boat??? Are you sure?????

Photobucket
Zhen is on the sinking end......

Photobucket
It was obviously doomed to capsize.....

And yes, you've probably noticed from the pictures that the water is very very very shallow coz it was high tide. I also saw no point of there being a boat since the water could only reach our knees. LOL!!!

Photobucket
Zhen is loving his Crocs

Photobucket
Damn I should have painted my toes!! (I am wearing the heart slipper)

After giving up on boat-rowing we started to do cam-slutting.

Photobucket

Mel and a Bodyboard. I think.

Photobucket

We love sunshine!

Photobucket

I like to surf on dry land. It makes me look cool.

Photobucket
Screeaaam coz the tide went down!!!!!

My new lover, Tioman

I've just come back from a 3 days 2 nights stay at Tioman Island.

Photobucket

And I freaking miss the place like anything. I miss waking up in my dingy hotel, looking out in the morning to see the sea, sand, sun, & coconut trees. I miss the sea breeze constantly kissing my cheeks, even the salty air that makes my skin dry up.

I miss having to look forward to nothing but fun under the sun, the absolute stress free life.

I want you back Tioman!!! I am so sorry I had you only for a while!!!

Going to update about the trip sometime soon. But for now, here are shots of the cuts and bruises we've sustained from the trip! (yeah I know I said it was fun!! Wait for it....) All of our cuts were gotten coz we were careless and slipped on the sharp rocks and dead corals.
