Berlin Zoo

I love love love love Zoos.
And Berlin apparently is one of the bestest Zoos in Europe. There were so many different types of animals there, I swear it has a much larger collection than the Singapore Zoo (which for me was massive!).

So cool the lion was posing behind me on a rock! Reminded me of the lion in Madagascar, can't remember his name, but this lioness constantly posed for the cameras at the rocky ledge letting the public take photos of her! Cam-whore.

Aaron & I were obsessed over this Panda called Bao-Bao. He is just too fuckin adorable! He looks so lazy and relaxed you can't help but envy his life when you see him chewing on bamboo.

For some reasons pink flamingos always reminds be of parties and martinis.

The hippo at the zoo had just given birth a month ago. For some reason the baby likes to stuff its head into the mom's jaws.

We went to the Petting Zoo section in the park and I fought off little kids to get my turn to pet the animals. I am mean mean mean!!!!
Aiyah kidding la. Fucking a lot of goats there see until vomit blood. Saw chickens too but I've got this phobia once I touch them they will try to peck my eye out or something.

Aaron really enjoyed pissing this goat off by pulling its horns. For a minute I was afraid it would multilate his balls with its horns if Aaron didn't stop.

The only time I wore tights in the EU. Its just tooooooo blardy cold.

We went out to visit Brandenburg Gate at Unter Den Linden.

The statute on top is a chariot drawn by four horses. (Ooh! Just wikied it. Apparently the person at the Chariot is Victoria, Goddess of Victory) Mega impressive. Brandenburg Gate used to be one of the dividing points between west and east Berlin.

We went to visit the Reichstagsbaude (fuck la, I am just gonna copy and paste this word the whole way), which is the Berlin Parliament.

Security to get into the building is super tight. Only a limited number of people were permitted into the building at one time, and everyone had to go through a scanner. They only allowed us to access the mirror dome of the Parliament building. (picture down below).

Reichstagsbaude dome is a really impressive architectural design. When you see it for the first time you can't help but go "ooooo~~~"

They must have used like a gadzillion mirrors/glass to construct this whole thing.

Parliament! So cool hor? But can you imagine during the day when there's sunlight it must complete blind the ministers in Parliament what with the gadzillion mirrors effectively reflecting the sun. HAHAHAHAHAHA. (ok I know that is not possible. I am being lame)

I will named any new dog my mom adopts "Reichstagsbaude" just to irritate my dad. LOL! I cannot imagine him saying "Reichstagsbaude! stop chewing those shoes!!"

Berliner Dom

Ich liebe Berlin!!

I love Berlin sooooo much!!!!!!!!!!! I stayed there for a total of 4 days and it wasn't enough at all. There were still so many things I had yet to see.

In Berlin, I had the most difficulty with the German language there. wah liew it is damn hard lo someone so kampung like me stuck in a strange city with strange words.

A lot of things I just 'pok'. Especially when it came to ordering food.

Fortunately though German and English share a lot of similiar sounding words so most of the time its not hard to guess what they mean.

Like wasser in german means 'water', and bier means 'beer'. A banana is also a 'banana' in english. lol. Someone told me that English itself actually originated from German.



However, the only thing I disliked about Berlin was the weather.

For the whole four days we were there we had this amazingly rubbish weather. I never ever saw the sun which was depressing. Furthermore, all I brought was a light coat and two thin cardigans coz its already spring in the UK.

Gawd, I was mistaken. It started snowing in Berlin. Spring apparently hasn't reached the rest of the EU yet. Cibai.


Since we had rather rubbish weather on our first day there, we decided to go for indoor attractions and visited the Berliner Dom.

It was built in 1894 as the court church and cathedral for Emperor Wilhelm 1. There was even a family crypt underneath the church which was creepy as they were so many coffins for dead children and babies.

They had a musuem upstairs showcasing the history of the place and small scaled-down models of the actual dom itself.

Then we went to the top of the dome to look at the scenery and get wet by Berlin rain. There is nothing I enjoy better in life that being soaked in rain and having strong cold winds blow at me for an hour straight. woohoo.

Missing Aaron+Berlin+Swiss already

Its been 3 whole days since I came back. Just saw Aaron off at Paddington station. Saying the word 'Goodbye' seems too depressing so we said 'see you again' instead when he left :(

It will be another 4 more months before we actually 'see' each other again. Sigh.

But I've been super spoilt by Aaron the whole time he was here. He planned all 8 days of euro-trip from scratch! I never even lifted a finger to help him at all (and strangely enough I don't feel guilty at all. HAHA) . Baby also paid for my half of the trip, T_T. Baby you're the best!!!!!!! (I'll ask my dog to give you a big sloppy kiss on my behalf when you get back).


My trip with Aaron was my first trip to Europe which was a truly amazing experience. Will blog about it soon when I have the time^^

Hauptbahnhof which means train station! My german has improved by so much after being stuck in Europe for 8 days, considering I never even knew a single word of german before this except from what I learn from Heidi Klum on her show. All stupid Ben taught me in German is 'Do you want to sleep with me?' . I did not even bother to try and by-heart that sentence obviously.
