Amsterdam II - Before suwen came

There was nothing much to do while waiting for my friend Suwen (a long complicated story) so we spent the 1st day just exploring certain parts of Amsterdam.

Amsterdam's canals are absolutely gorgeous and are constantly full of traffic. River cruises are organised daily, you can even have dinnner onboard if you want!

Our hotel looked totally different from what we booked online. It was small, cramped, and we had to walk up 8 flight of steep stairways to reach our damn room. The whole place was too old and too small to have a lift. So imagine poor us lifting our 10kilo luggage bag all the way up!!

So like I said, we spent the most part of the day taking in the sights.

Saw birds nesting under a bridge. Utterly adorable

Visited a condom store that had every condom flavour imaginable. and other funky condom shapes :D

Sha has this thing about collecting HardRock pins from all over the world

I like the pins from HardRock Pittsburg and SanFran

And so here comes the most not worth it part of the whole trip. Presenting to you the

AMSTERDAM BRIDGE!!

I swear I really really thought it looked waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better in the brochure!! I was like "Hey guys! this place looks amazing! Let's go let's go let's go!"

We all thought it would just be 30mins walk on the map.

Mana tahu. We ended up walking for 1 hour and 30mins.

And everyone was expecting something awsome at the end of that walk but they were greeted with this lousy bridge:

Sha says it looks like a "Rumah Buka Puasa" doing Ramadan month.

Zhen now calls this bloody thing "Cheryl's bridge"

.......

You know I love you all! *nudges ankles*

Dinner helped a lot though in restoring our spirits. We were all on a major budget trip as my dad conveniently forgot to bank in money for me, we scouted around endlessly for a good meal.

Which led us to the 5euro for every pasta stall!
Turned out to be one of the bestest ever pasta I've ever had my whole life.

Photobucket
Never before have I had a Carbonara cooked to utter perfection!

Photobucket
Pizza which was also 5 euros was equally good!
