I've just added a small section to the right called ''my skin type'', which is basically the gist of my skin condition at the moment. It will help facilitate readers so that they will know what sort of products may or may not suit their skin. Like they say, what's great for me may not exactly work for you!
Back to Kate liquid brown eyeliner (such a mouthful), I bought this a few weeks ago on discount, think I got it for about RM36.90 maybe? It still is a wee bit pricey but I've been desperately looking for a brown liquid liner. I'm trying to cut down on using pencil liners as I'm afraid of tugging at the skin area near my eyes. Liquids are just so much more gentle.
I really don't get why in the world did they create such an elongated bottle when you only dip such a tiny part of the brush into the liquid? Makes more sense to have the bloody thing pear-shaped to be more use-efficient. But anyways, I'm getting besides the point.
Kate liquid liner
This liner is definitely NOT for beginners! You'll need a steady hand for this one and it tends to get a blotchy if you've not applied pressure evenly such as the pic above.
Colour wise, I'm pretty happy with it. I like that its dark brown to the point its almost black and yet at the same time, it does not create the harsh outline that black liner usually has (coz most of the time, I just use eyeliner without any eyeshadow).
Some basic details:
Waterproof : Nope. Long Lasting: Yes. last all day, even when I sweat. Oddly enough, its pretty shit when I go swimming though Brush: Gentle and pretty sharp, which makes it pretty accurate for drawing as long as you can control your hand pressure.
Overall, Kate liquid eyeliner stands out a strong stars out of 5!
I trust everyone had a fabulous Christmas and New Year's! Mine certainly was, I had an awesome time with family & close friends, what better way could I ask for to spend the holidays? Even the rainy season seems to be slowing down, there are much less horrid thunderstorms which means more sunshine!!! 2013 is looking a lot better already :)
This post is rather outdated to say the least, because the KOJI make-up event happened last year (I know, many of you have had enough of the ''last year'' and ''next year'' jokes which pop up like mad every year end but I gotta admit I still can't stop making them). It was organized by ViVi Malaysia at Gino Cafe @ Isetan KLCC.
My bestie JoJo & I bought tickets to go to the KOJI event for RM60 sometime in December. Just a bit of background, KOJI is a famous company in Japan for producing make-up & skin care products. They are particularly famous for their ''Dolly Wink'' make-up brand series produced by Tsubasa Masuwaka.
Tsubasa Masuwaka
You can check out her very very cute promotional video here :
They are also affiliated with SANA for their "Pore Putty"series which is slowly gaining its popularity as well!
(oops, I had to take this off helloemy's blog because I forgot to take photos of these products during the event. Too careless! >_<) This product by the way, is FABULOUS. It covers pores like smooth porcelain!! I was so impressed!!!!
Moving on, we were pleasantly surprised to find so much KOJI make up samples at our table!
JoJo & I in light make up before the event. A lot of girls came without make up which I think is a lot better as you get to really fully utilize the samples they give, but I'm just not that confident to walk out of the house completely bare-faced!!
We were completely spoilt for choice so there was just waaaaaaaayy too much stuff for me to review individually. I'm just going to post up a whole bunch of pictures and explain about the ones that I love that I sampled in the short time I was there.
This is the Dolly Wink Highlighter. I love love love their packaging, however I don't think this one is worth buying as you can easily get the exact same colour and effect with your normal silver/glittery eyeshadow.
JoJo's DIY nails. So pretty!!
The make-up artist at the event introduced us to a few new items by Dolly Wink, particularly this lovely shade of brown neutral eyeshadow tones (Colour Palette 01).
How it looks after I applied it on my lids...
Pigmentation is lovely, and it stays on really well on my oily lids, even though I did not apply any primer on that day. There's another pic below to see later.
Another new eyelash addition to the Dolly Wink family (No.15) ! These are ''half'' lashes, and apparently we are suppose to apply them starting from the ends first and slowly work our way towards the middle of your eyes. With full length lashes, always start from the inner corner of your eyes first and slowly work your way towards the outer corners of your eyes.
Super nice & subtle! I'd really recommend these for first-timers who feel full lengthed lashes are just too over-the-top.
The glue is just way too cute !!
JoJo trying on another type of Dolly Wink eyelash but I've completely forgotten what version these are.
Our completed makeover!
I must say, paying top dollar for your falsies really do make a difference. Admittedly, RM55.90 is a hefty price for 2 pairs of false lashes, but trust me I've been using RM5 a pair for falsies and they don't feel anywhere near as comfortable as these do!!!! In addition, with the proper care these falsies can be reused for up to 4-5 times compared with those rows of cheapo lashes that can probably only last up to 2 uses.
But am I tempted to purchase these lashes? Well.. to be honest, despite being very very beautiful and comfortable to wear, there still aren't really worth the money unless to say they go on sale for less than RM45. I understand though that these lashes are expensive even in Japan where they originally are from, so my advice is if you can afford the splurge, please go ahead!!
One of the very lovely & helpful make-up artist for that event. Oh gawd, I've forgotten her name. I think she's KiKi or something that rhymes together with it.
We both matched our outfits for that day! Decided to go for a nice flowery theme for once.
Everyone who went got a lovely goody bag too! (which was the main reason we were there ahem)
Spoilt!!! Can't wait to do a review on these soon.
Sorry, I know the post wasn't very properly done but I got so tired after filtering the photos and arranging them. Maybe that should be a new year's resolution for me: Stop procrastinating! Start writing more! Be more hardoworking at posting on my blog!! But before I break them, I hope you guys have an absolutely crazy new year!!!
You've probably heard of tokyoninki.com contact lenses if you're a cheeserland follower. I've started switching to using them recently as I read that these were a lot safer to use, holding higher water content, GEO certified, etc etc.
I'd be honest here, i'm pretty much sick of buying those dodgy lenses albeit them being AMAZING looking. I used to be pretty addicted to them coz they made my eyes look so much bigger and they come in so many different styles. The price is super affordable as well, even right now, they are selling them at rm10 each online, lasting for as long as 1 year!
However after constant use, my eyes are pretty much feeling the after effects of those damn lenses, i.e dry, tired eyes. I pretty much had to throw them away after EACH use. In the end, I just ended up spending a lot more despite the cheap prices.
Hence here's where my review starts. I talked a bit about them in my previous post but i must admit i'm not too happy with my earth brown colour which is apparently the best seller. I bought skyblue colour as well since the brand is pretty comfortable and I must say that this time i'm in love with the colour. Its so preeeeettttyyy!!!!
How it looks like from the official website.
How the colour looks like in real life:
(true colour)
Lasting for as long as 3 months per pair, I'd say this is a pretty good price at RM58.00/pair (if you want to be super chinese, that's about RM20 per month which is still a pretty darn good price.)
If you'd like to see a sample of the other colours, head on to this other blog , everyday-outfits, to see earth brown and wood ash colour :)
My makeup for today is all from Maybeline, except for my brown liner which is from "Essence".
Maybeline colour pallette
Maybeline liquid eye-liner
Essence brown liner
Cotton Bud
Fakelashes: DAISO
I used the cottonbud on "A" to highlight the inner corner of my eyes, and "B" for the outer ends to give it a more 'dark' look.
Hope this is somewhat helpful for you. Have a great day!
I love that Topshop has come out with its own range of make up which is rather affordable unlike their range of clothes which are bearing prices not too far from high-end fashion these days ( =__= )
Here's their not-so-latest collection of Topshop crayons:
Crayons are rather like eye-liners, except that they are rather thick and can't draw defined lines like an eyeliner can. However, it is a lot more smoother and thicker to apply than a normal eyeliner and its great for creating that ''smudged eye look''.
I bought two colours to try, i.e the Black Jack & Tarnish (because Imma a big fan of brown eyeshadow/liner)
Tarnish (the dark brown) looks rather black here but in real-life its more of a dark-matte brown colour.
Here are the swatches:
I really love these crayons, they create a really lovely smudgey look and blends really easily on the skin. However, I definitely won't recommend this for girls with oily skin if they don't put on eye primer coz this smudges really easily :( . Aside from that, the colours are VERY awesome, and the black contains just a nice touch of glitter for nightime.
I never draw the directly on my eyes with the crayons, I always use a sharp tip side-ways brush to shape the outline of the crayon. I find that just directly drawing it on your eyes can give is a very messy look if you're not too careful!
I'm thinking about one-day doing a makeup video just showcasing my makeup in real life (I'm not ready to show the world my bare-face just yet! lolz)
I've been such a hermit hiding away from the internet world lately (except facebook but its become more of a commodity rather than internet anymore T^T )
Been meaning to create a post about my everytime make-up routine. Not like anyone cares but whatever. I feel it really helps other girls like me who have single eyelids. It really helps my eyes look TONS bigger, especially when I don't bother to use double-eye lid tape since they don't work on me anywayz.
A close up for my everyday make up
Here's my basic make up fix:
Foundations:
Heroine Make Liquid Matte BB
Heroin Make smooth cover powder
Eyes:
Essence brown eyeliner (super cheap for like, RM7.90 only)
Maybeline Hyper Sharp Liner (around the range of RM20 )
I really really really love this liner. Making ''winged'''tips at the ends of my eyes just became a hundred times neater and so much more accurate! I love how its waterproof as well as I have oily eyelids and it lasts all day long.
The only thing I don't like about it is that it finishes like seriously fast. I've only been using it for a month but I can start to see that the ink isn't as thick as it used to be when I first bought it :/ Kinda pricey to keep topping up RM20 a month!! Its like fuckin electricity bills. =.=
Lovin'my new table cloth as well. ho ho!! just bought it barely 2 hours ago from 100yen store and I thought it'd make a great background for my reviews from now on :D
